About Amy
The concept of owning and running a business was normal for Amy: her father owned a local car dealership. She spent a great deal of time there as a child, and later worked for her dad. She learned that working for yourself involved long hours and strong commitment. But being able to make your own decisions is what got her hooked.
All of her first jobs as a teenager – working at a clothing boutique, a music store, and her dad’s office – were ventures run by people who forged their own way. At one point, she worked at three simultaneously.
Amy found her niche in the 1980s, working in sales in the tabletop industry, acting as liaison between craftspeople, artists, designers, manufacturers, and retailers. Working directly for manufacturers was her training ground, building the perfect base to then launch her own representative firm.
Being a founding member of The Threadneedle Alley Foundation is truly an honor, a way to pass on the art of entrepreneurship and help others achieve their dreams by creating their own unique story.
